Our QDR Hometown Hero of this week is Terry McCabe, a firefighter at the Raleigh Fire Department.
Terry’s nominator says, “Terry McCabe is a senior firefighter who has been serving the Raleigh Fire Department for 25 years. His dedication to the citizens of Raleigh and his mentorship of his fellow firefighters have been exemplary. His service goes beyond regular firefighting, and he is also a member of the North Carolina hazardous materials regional response team, a team that responds to Wake, Durham, Franklin, Johnson, Vance, Granville, and Orange counties. Beyond his service to the public, his smile always lights up the room when he walks in, and he has never looked down on anyone despite his height. Fun fact, he is the tallest member of the Raleigh Fire Department. Along with his service, he also runs a successful handyman and furniture moving business. Terry deserves this award for his many years of service and his ability to go above and beyond.”
Thank you, Terry, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do!
