Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Mike Williams, Senior Deputy Commissioner of the NC Office of State Fire Marshal.
Mike was nominated by his wife Kelly who says, “Mike has served his community as a volunteer firefighter for over 34 years and also as a paid firefighter and law enforcement officer. He is the Senior Deputy Commissioner of the NC Office of State Fire Marshal where he leads the Fire Investigations unit as well as all of the NC Fire and Rescue programs. Mike has spent his life helping others personally and professionally as a committed public servant in NC and beyond. In 2003, he was instrumental in creating the Hometown Heroes Bill which insured that first responders that died from heart attacks receive line of duty death benefits. Thanks for recognizing his service to others.”
Thank you, Mike, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a $50 gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do.
