It’s Deaf Dog Awareness Week! What better time to showcase our resident deaf pup, Magenta! She’s been spending the summer with APS staff and volunteers, jumping into every puddle and pool she can find—she’s even picked up a few hand signs! We’ll let her introduce herself: “Helloooo! I’m a busy bee with lots of energy! Watch me chase a ball and play the day away! I snort like a piggy when I explore, and I dive into things paws-first. I like people so much that I can be a little rough and rude in my enthusiasm. I’ll need basic training, 4 on the floor, and calming exercises. I’m food-motivated and will be so much fun to train, but you should know that I learn a little differently because I’m deaf. That just means we’ll be creative together. Come visit!”
Kids: 10+, active, jumps on people
Dogs: A little stiff and forward, playful once comfortable. Likes wrestling and jumping/pawing. Slow intros w/ tolerant dogs
