Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Addison Smith, a paramedic in Cary.
Addison was nominated by Jennifer DeBrecht who says, “Addison Smith has been working as a medic for the past sixteen years. As his former EMS partner, I can attest that his compassion and patient advocacy go above and beyond all expectations. Addison is not only an experienced medic that saves lives on a regular basis, he also works hard to make small but impactful changes in the lives of others – be it standing up for someone being mistreated or going the extra mile to comfort a patient’s family. Addison is kind and caring but doesn’t hesitate to take steps necessary to protect others, even when it may cause tension. Many of his efforts are never seen by anyone outside of those directly benefitting but he never seeks recognition or praise despite the major impacts he makes. He’s someone people look up to and he is adored by family, friends, and coworkers alike. He loves saltwater fishing, golf, his dog, and time with loved ones.”
Thank you, Addison, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do!
