Marimba is a total sweetheart, snuggle bug, and people pleaser. She has plenty of puppy energy to play and run around, but can also settle easily for a nap or some quiet time with a kong. She is very food motivated and has already learned so much from us and our dogs in the last two weeks. She would make a great addition to any family, but especially one with a set routine who is looking to add an additional dog to their pack!
She loves having other pups to learn from, get confidence from, and play with. She has settled nicely into their schedule. She is potty trained, and now knows to go to the front door when she has to go out. She has learned to sit and wait for the okay to eat alongside our other pups (with plenty of social distancing between bowls!) and shows no signs of resource guarding or food aggression. The rest of the day is spent napping on the couch while us humans work, with a few play breaks in between. She quickly learned which couch was the dog couch and stays off our other furniture. She loves hard chew toys and playing tug of war with the other dogs.
Marimba walks well on her leash and is learning that loose leash walking and eye contact means lots of yummy treats! She’s been out in public with us many times already and has done very well! Although she is nervous around new people, she warms up quick and will sit or lay down for a treat and allows people to pet her. We bring a towel or blanket for her to stay on and she is more than happy to lay in her spot and watch people, cars, and other dogs move about.
She is a very quiet lady, unless she’s sleeping and snoring up a storm! She loves her crate and sleeps in it every night. She has also gotten much better at being left in her crate if we need to leave the house. Having another dog in their crate next to hers has also helped her feel more safe and confident.
