Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Mindy Rouse, Occupational Therapist with Wayne County Public Schools.”
Mindy was nominated by Diana Soles who says, “Mindy is a home town hero as she wears many capes. She works with Wayne County Public Schools as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, working with Special Needs children. She has been an OT Assistant for 17 years. She also became a widow at the age of 36 years old, and was left to raise 4 young children on her own when the love of her life died suddenly from a massive heart attack. She somehow turned this tragic situation into something beautiful. She moved back to her hometown of La Grange and started a farm, Moo Moo’s Farm. She is often sponsoring special events for families of special needs children and adults, free of charge. She also helped start a widow’s group at her church. She has touched so many people’s lives through her testimony and ministry, and is the perfect definition of beauty from ashes. Mindy is often putting herself last to help others. She has been one of the main caretakers for her parents over the last 20 years, and is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.”
Thank you, Mindy, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a $50 gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do.
