Hometown Hero of the Week: James “Derby” Carpenter, January 29th, 2024
Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is James “Derby” Carpenter.
“Derby” spends 100% of his time in this life serving the town of Aberdeen NC as a full-time fireman, and on his few days off, he serves as the glue that keeps the small Derby Fire Department held together as a volunteer. Derby also serves as a part time firefighter at West End Fire and Rescue. He never misses Sunday church or any call for service or to help a friend.
